Personal Emergency Response System (PERS) EQUIPMENT TYPES AND FAQS:

Landline Home-Based – Our Vi+

This technology is the gold standard of home-based PERS, with a proven track record of dependability. This device can be used on standard, digital and VoIP phone services. This unit is best for those whose greatest risk is while at home alone, and also those who might not remember to charge mobile units. Newer advancements in this technology allow for greater range and features, including temperature and other environmental sensors. The activator does not require charging and can be worn 24/7. The device allows for multiple users in the same home.

Cellular Home-BasedOur CEL- MXD

This technology is offered in a reliable home-based PERS solution for those who do not have landline phone service. This unit is best for those whose greatest risk is while at home alone,  and those who might not remember to charge mobile units. The activator does not require charging and can be worn 24/7. This device operates as it’s own cellular device, it does not require the user to have cellular phone service. The device allows for multiple users in the same home.

Mobile PERS with GPS – Our MSD

This newer technology is offered in a mobile PERS solution when the greater safety concern is away from home for those who have cognitive issues, wander and may get lost. It is also appropriate for some higher levels of disability. Similar to cell phones, it requires that the user to be within range of the servicing cellular carrier in order to complete the call for assistance. GPS, when available, can help locate the user in an emergency. These units must be charged nightly, so cannot be worn during the night. This larger unit, about the size of a pager, cannot be worn on the wrist, but has a neck lanyard, or clothing clip option. This device allows only for a single user on each device.

Mobile PERS with U-TDOA & WiFi Locator – Our Belle and Belle WiFi

Similar to GPS devices, this technology is offered in a mobile PERS solution, for anyone whose greater safety concern is while away from home. It differs from our GPS enable unit with dual connectivity, so that if it is out of range of the servicing cellular carrier it can connect to any available GSM cellular provider to place a call to 911 for assistance. Rather than GPS, 911 providers can utilize U-TDOA technology, where available, to help locate the user in an emergency. Wifi enabled units can provide better approximate location when needed. These units should be charged nightly, so cannot be worn during the night. This larger unit, about the size of a pager, cannot be worn on the wrist, but has a neckcord, or clothing pin option. This device allows only for a single user on each device.

Fall Detection Activator

This technology uses advanced algorithms to detect falls. It is available in either of our home-based options. It also features a standard help button that can be manually pressed for assistance. It is provided on special request on a case-by-case basis as, in order to provide optimum fall detection, it does require a higher level of compliance in the wearing of it.
